Daejeon Autonomous Police Supports Daejeon Police with 3 Undercover Patrol Cars
[Asia Economy (Daejeon) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] The Daejeon Autonomous Police Committee announced on the 21st that it purchased three undercover patrol cars and delivered them to the Daejeon Police Agency.
The day marked the 77th Police Day, and this is the first case among local governments and city/provincial autonomous police committees nationwide where an autonomous police committee has supported the police agency with undercover patrol cars.
The Daejeon Autonomous Police invested a budget of 190 million won to support the undercover patrol cars. Through this support, the number of undercover patrol cars owned by the Daejeon Police Agency will increase from one to four.
Undercover patrol cars are designed to drive like regular passenger cars and, when vehicles violating laws such as speeding are detected, to record videos and enforce regulations using camcorders and traffic enforcement equipment installed in the vehicles.
According to the Daejeon Autonomous Police, these vehicles are known to have 6.4 times higher enforcement efficiency compared to regular patrol cars, making them highly effective in preventing traffic fatal accidents.
In particular, undercover patrol cars have the relative advantage of being easier to respond to two-wheeled vehicles, which are difficult to enforce violations against.
