"He Who Rises by the Sword Falls by the Sword" Kwon Seong-dong to Lee Jae-myung: "He Who Rises by Crime Falls by Crime"
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] Regarding the prosecution investigation surrounding Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, and his remark targeting the Yoon Seok-yeol administration that "those who rise by the sword fall by the sword," Kwon Seong-dong, a member of the People Power Party, retorted, "Those who rise by crime fall by crime."
On the 21st, Kwon said through his social network service (SNS), "At the very least, the phrase 'those who rise by the sword fall by the sword' is not something Leader Lee can say," expressing this view.
He pointed out, "Currently, the prosecution's investigation records on Leader Lee's charge of false statement publication alone amount to 10,000 pages, and there are overflowing criminal suspicions including Seongnam FC, Ssangbangwool, and Baekhyeon-dong," adding, "Leader Lee is rising by crime and falling by crime."
He also addressed the Democratic Party, saying, "Today as well, the Democratic Party is all-in on the 'political oppression' frame," and questioned, "Is insisting that a lawful investigation is oppression a shallow trick to deceive the public, or is it a self-hypnotic spell to deceive themselves?"
Kwon emphasized, "Yoo Dong-gyu delivered funds to Kim Yong (Deputy Director of the Democratic Research Institute) four times between April and August, and at that time, Kim Yong was the general deputy head of Lee Jae-myung's campaign," adding, "In other words, there is suspicion that the money raised by the Daejang-dong gang was used for Leader Lee's election campaign. Therefore, the investigation is natural."
