View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] SPC Group will issue a public apology and announce measures to prevent recurrence on the 21st regarding the accident at the SPL bakery factory located in Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi Province.
SPC Group stated that Chairman Heo Young-in will deliver a public apology at 11 a.m. at the headquarters in Seocho-gu, Seoul, and President Hwang Jae-bok, the general manager, will announce plans to strengthen safety management to prevent recurrence.
Considering that investigations by the Ministry of Employment and Labor and the police are ongoing, no separate Q&A session will be held.
Earlier, Chairman Heo apologized once, saying, "I pray for the repose of the deceased who lost their life in an unfortunate accident at our workplace, and I offer my deepest condolences and apologies to the bereaved families."
At around 6:20 a.m. on the 15th, a female worker in her 20s died in an accident while mixing bread sauce at the SPL bakery factory in Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi Province. She was a regular employee of SPL and a novice worker who had been employed for 2 years and 6 months.
