Newbase, Full-Scale Establishment of Nurse Virtual Reality Simulation Education Testbed
[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Young-won] Medical edutech company Newbase announced on the 19th that it has officially established a testbed for nursing simulation education using virtual reality (VR) technology.
This testbed was established through selection in the Seoul Digital Foundation's smart city solution demonstration support project, with Severance Hospital, Chungbuk National University Hospital, Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, and Daerim St. Mary's Hospital participating as demand institutions.
Newbase plans to propose a VR-based education system to provide better field-related training for prospective and new nurses who face difficulties in clinical practice opportunities. The program also helps instructors make appropriate decisions for learners and generate new knowledge even in virtual reality education.
The VR-based education system experienced and accumulated in the testbed is expected to be utilized as know-how for introducing nursing education content to hospitals and nursing universities in the future.
