[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] A man who threatened a woman with a weapon in a commercial building restroom, stole her gold bracelet, and fled was caught by the police just one day after the crime.
On the 15th, Eunpyeong Police Station announced that at around 12:30 PM that day, they urgently arrested a man in his 50s, Mr. A, near a residential area in Hongje-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, on charges of robbery and injury.
Mr. A is accused of threatening the victim, Ms. B, with a weapon at around 5:50 AM the previous day in a restroom of a commercial building in Galhyeon-dong, Eunpyeong-gu, binding her hands and feet with blue tape and covering her mouth, then stealing a gold bracelet worth about 1 million won before fleeing. It is reported that Ms. B sustained an injury to the thumb of her left hand during the incident.
Mr. A reportedly admitted to the crime. However, he told the police that he discarded the stolen valuables while fleeing after the crime.

A police official stated, "After completing the investigation, we plan to apply for an arrest warrant as early as today."
