Jeonnam Province Secures 22.4 Billion KRW in National Funding for 'Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project'
[Muan=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Jeonnam Province announced on the 13th that 6,617 sites in 16 cities and counties, including Yeosu-si, were selected in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy's '2023 Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project Contest.'
As a result, it secured 22.4 billion KRW in national funds.
Since 2021, the province has secured the largest amount of national funds in the country for three consecutive years, gaining momentum in promoting energy self-reliance projects for residents.
The Renewable Energy Convergence Support Project supports the installation of renewable energy facilities such as solar power and solar heat for self-generation in specific areas mixed with houses and commercial buildings.
The cities and counties select 2 to 3 eup, myeon, and dong districts each year to intensively promote the installation support project for renewable energy facilities.
In 2023, a total of 52 billion KRW will be invested, including 22.4 billion KRW in national funds, 3.5 billion KRW in provincial funds, 19.6 billion KRW in city and county funds, and 6.5 billion KRW in self-contributions.
It plans to install 19,117 kW of solar power at 5,680 sites, 10,658㎡ of solar heat at 907 sites, 526 kW of geothermal energy at 29 sites, and 10 kW of fuel cells at 1 site.
Jeonnam Province, with the help of the Korea Energy Agency Gwangju-Jeonnam Headquarters, informed the cities and counties of important matters for writing and presenting the project plan and prepared for the evaluation to be selected for this contest project.
