View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Seoyun] Former National Assembly Vice Speaker Park Juseon has been appointed as the 24th President of the Korea Petroleum Association.
The Korea Petroleum Association announced on the 13th that it held an extraordinary general meeting at Lotte Hotel in Jung-gu, Seoul, attended by CEOs of the four major refiners?SK Energy, GS Caltex, S-Oil, and Hyundai Oilbank?and appointed former National Assembly Vice Speaker Park Juseon as the 24th president of the association.
President Park graduated from Gwangju High School and Seoul National University with a degree in law, and completed graduate studies in law at the same university as well as at the University of Cambridge in the UK. After entering the legal profession in 1979, he served as the presidential legal secretary in 1998 and was a member of the National Assembly for the 16th, 18th, 19th, and 20th sessions.

He served as the Chair of the Education, Culture, Sports and Tourism Committee in the latter half of the 19th National Assembly, Chair of the Intelligence Committee in the latter half of the 20th National Assembly, Vice Speaker in the first half of the 20th National Assembly, and also served as the Chair of the Presidential Transition Committee for the 20th president.
