View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Juri] A tragic accident occurred on a road within an Indian national park where a rhinoceros collided with the side of a truck, and the government has fined the driver.
On the 9th (local time), Assam Governor Himanta Biswa Sarma posted on his Twitter account, "The rhinoceros is our special friend. We will not allow the rhinoceros' territory to be violated," along with the accident video.
In the video, the rhinoceros walks out of the forest and appears to be crossing the road. At that time, a truck was approaching on the road in the direction of the rhinoceros.
The truck driver, seeing the rhinoceros approaching closely, turned left, but the rhinoceros still collided with the side of the vehicle.
The rhinoceros spun half a turn from the impact and bounced off, briefly sitting down on the ground before standing up and moving a few steps. The rhinoceros seemed still affected by the shock and fell again but soon returned to the forest.
Governor Sarma conveyed that "the rhinoceros is fortunately unharmed" and also shared the news that "the truck was fined."
The British Daily Mail, citing local media, reported that "the speed limit on the road was 40 km/h, but the truck was driving at 50 km/h."
