According to the county on the 12th, at the cooking contest held at the Yeosu World Expo Hall during the '28th Namdo Food Culture Festival,' Lee Dayoon, CEO of Haewol Livestock Food System, won the grand prize in the general division.
CEO Lee captivated tourists and judges alike by presenting a variety of dishes using Hampyeong Cheonji Korean beef, a representative local specialty, including Snowflake Gujeolpan Bibimbap, Beef Pyeonchae, and Beef Glutinous Rice Pyeonchae.
Lee said, "I have been continuously developing new Korean beef dishes through cooking classes at the health center and independent research," adding, "I am pleased to be able to promote the excellence and taste of Hampyeong Korean beef through this competition."
In particular, Lee added significance to the award by expressing the intention to donate the prize money of 2 million won received as a reward to the development of Hampyeong County.
A health center official said, "The Namdo Food Culture Festival has become an opportunity to widely promote Hampyeong's representative foods," and added, "We will continue to do our best so that Hampyeong can become the number one taste destination representing Namdo."
