A Man in His 50s Arrested for Stabbing Rampage at Gwangju City Hall

The Gwangju Western Police Station announced on the 11th that they have booked A (58) on charges including special intimidation.
A is suspected of causing a disturbance while wielding a weapon on the 5th floor of the main building of Gwangju City Hall in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City, at around 2:16 p.m. that day.
A was subdued by a civil police officer who responded to a citizen's report. No one was injured in the incident.
According to the police investigation, A attempted to call Mayor Kang Ki-jung but committed the crime because the call was not answered.
He is also suspected of swinging a weapon at B, a man in his 70s, in an alley in Baegun-dong, Nam-gu, around 1 p.m. that day and fleeing. As a result, part of B's coat was torn, but it is known that there were no injuries.
