View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Jeong Eun-kyung, former Commissioner of the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, has been appointed as an Infectious Disease Policy Research Committee member at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital.
According to the Government Officials Ethics Committee and Bundang Seoul National University Hospital on the 7th, Jeong, after passing the employment review for retired public officials, was approved for short-term special professional employment at Bundang Seoul National University Hospital and started working from the 4th of this month.
Jeong’s position is known to be an Infectious Disease Policy Research Committee member. It is a one-year special professional position, and she reportedly applied and was accepted through the recruitment announcement in August. Jeong retired from her post as Commissioner of the Disease Control and Prevention Agency on May 17.

Bundang Seoul National University Hospital was finally selected in March this year in the metropolitan infectious disease specialized hospital contest conducted by the Disease Control and Prevention Agency. The scale of the infectious disease specialized hospital is a total floor area of 88,097㎡, with 6 basement floors and 9 above-ground floors, totaling 342 beds. The goal is to complete construction by December 2027, and if established as planned, it is expected to become the largest infectious disease specialized hospital in Korea.
