[Asia Economy Reporter Heo Kyung-jun] The High-ranking Officials' Crime Investigation Agency (Gong-su-cheo) carried out personnel changes involving the promotion and transfer of nine prosecutors, including department chiefs, on the 5th.
Kim Su-jeong, former Acting Director of Investigation Planning (Judicial Research and Training Institute Class 30), was appointed as the new Deputy Head of Investigation Division 2. Ye Sang-gyun, former Acting Director of Human Rights Investigation Policy (Class 30), was promoted to Head of the Prosecution Department. Lee Dae-hwan, former Acting Deputy Head of Investigation Division 1 (Class 34), was appointed as Investigation Planning Director along with his promotion to department chief. Cha Jeong-hyun, Acting Deputy Head of Investigation Division 3 (Class 36), was promoted to Deputy Department Chief.
Kim Seong-moon, Deputy Head of Investigation Division 2 (Class 29), was transferred to Human Rights Investigation Policy Director. Additionally, four prosecutors, including Kim Sook-jung (Bar Exam 1st), moved positions, with Kim transferring from Investigation Division 1 to the Investigation Planning Office.
Gong-su-cheo plans to conduct additional personnel appointments on the 7th for two newly appointed department chiefs and one prosecutor. Kim Myung-seok, former Deputy Department Chief at Suwon District Prosecutors' Office Seongnam Branch (Class 30), Kim Seon-gyu, former prosecutor at Jeonju District Prosecutors' Office (Class 32), and Yoon Sang-hyuk, Gong-su-cheo Prosecutorial Officer (4th), will newly join the agency.
This personnel reshuffle was conducted as part of organizational restructuring to establish a new lineup through the replenishment and promotion of department chiefs. It aims to enhance understanding and cooperation between investigative and non-investigative departments through rotational assignments, including transferring investigative officers to other departments halfway through their terms, thereby improving investigative capabilities and producing investigative results, according to Gong-su-cheo.
