Yangcheon-gu to Host Autumn Integrated Cultural Festival 'Baramnan Yangcheon' with Theme 'Books, Dance, Excitement' at Yangcheon Park and Cultural Center from 7th to 14th & Featuring Talk Concert, Book Festival, Big Dance Festival, and Yangcheon's Night
[Asia Economy Reporter Jongil Park] Yangcheon-gu (Mayor Lee Gijae) announced that from October 7 to October 14, the autumn integrated cultural festival ‘Baramnan Yangcheon’ will be held at Yangcheon Park and Yangcheon Culture Hall.
‘Baramnan Yangcheon’ is a festival that integrates the previously separately held ‘Yangcheon Book Festival,’ ‘Dancing Yangcheon Festival,’ and ‘Haeuri Cultural Festival’ under the themes of ‘Book Wind (書), Dance Wind (動), New Wind (新).’ It embodies a strong determination to create a fresh breeze by capturing the dreams of Yangcheon, which is starting vigorously, through books, dance, and art.
First, on the 7th, the festival will open with a talk concert titled ‘Songs That Became Poetry, Meeting Kim Pil’ at the main theater of Yangcheon Culture Hall. The unique-voiced singer Kim Pil and poet Park Jun will hold a talk show blending music and literature. On the same day at 3 PM, a book busking event with former MBC producer Jo Jeongseon is also highly anticipated.
On the 8th, the ‘9th Yangcheon Book Festival,’ returning after three years, will be held at Yangcheon Park. It will offer various delights by interacting with residents through events such as a meeting with writer Eun Heekyung, busking performances, magic shows, and a movie concert. On the same day, at the fountain plaza of Yangcheon Culture Hall, a public art exhibition ‘HAPPENING FESTA’ created with residents will be presented. It will be filled with unique attractions such as the live painting project ‘Play Cube,’ paella for 100 people (seafood fried rice), and chalk art.
On the last day of the short holiday, the 10th, the street arts festival ‘Again, Here Theater’ and the ‘Big Dance Festival’ will take place at Yangcheon Park. Through mime, circus, and a 200-person dance flash mob, it will gift a magical time where the place where residents stand becomes the stage.
Next, on the evening of the 12th at the main theater of Yangcheon Culture Hall, ‘One Step Closer with Dance STEP UP’ will showcase a performance combining contemporary dance and street dance. You can experience the splendid performances of the contemporary dance company ‘EDx2,’ the dance team ‘Honor Brakers,’ and the ‘Expression Crew,’ known for the success of the b-boying original musical ‘Marionette.’
On the last day of the festival week, the 14th, ‘Yangcheon Night,’ which will conclude ‘Baramnan Yangcheon,’ will be held. It will be a special celebration where residents are the protagonists, featuring performances by housewives and youth dance clubs who have been practicing dance for the past year, as well as special performances by award-winning teams from the youth dance competition ‘Yangcheon Dance League.’
