[Gangjin=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-su] Jeonnam Gangjin County Governor Gang Jin-won visited Ttangsim Flower Farming Corporation, a local rose cultivation corporation, on the 28th to listen to the difficulties faced by flower farmers on site and discuss measures for the development of the flower industry.
Jo Woo-cheol, CEO of Ttangsim Flower Farming Corporation, expressed difficulties, saying, “Due to recent international circumstances, the prices of agricultural materials and fuel have risen, increasing the management costs burden for flower cultivation farms.” He added, “We hope that various support measures, such as expanding support for greenhouse material costs, will be reflected in the county administration so that flower farmers can cultivate roses stably.”
Gang Jin-won, Gangjin County Governor, said, “Starting next year, we will expand and allocate the agricultural budget by more than 30% and devise various methods to support farmers' income preservation.” He also said, “Ahead of the full-scale rose shipment, I hope you will do your best to produce high-quality roses.”
Established in 1995, Ttangsim Flower Farming Cooperative Corporation consists of 34 farms with a cultivation area of 15.3 hectares, accounting for 69% of rose production in Jeollanam-do. The corporation has maintained the status of Gangjin County as the number one flower industry area by producing high-quality roses with 27 years of rose cultivation know-how.
“Cheongjagol Roses,” cultivated under Gangjin’s mild climate and abundant sunlight, boast the highest quality nationwide with vivid flower colors and strong fragrance.
