Samsung Electronics to Provide 1 Million Won Welfare Points to Semiconductor Employees
[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Hyun-seok] Samsung Electronics will provide welfare points worth 1 million KRW to all employees in the semiconductor division.
On the 28th, Samsung Electronics announced on its internal network that it will introduce the 'Device Solutions (DS) Leisure Points System.'
The points to be provided this time are a kind of 'cash-equivalent welfare.' Using the points, employees can purchase Samsung Electronics home appliances, health supplements, and meal kits, as well as make reservations for hotels and leisure facilities.
The points will be given to employees (excluding executives) who are employed as of the 4th of next month. The usage period is three years. Leisure points were also provided in 2019 and 2020.
Previously, some employees within Samsung Electronics expressed dissatisfaction, claiming that their treatment was inferior compared to SK Hynix. In response, Kyung Kye-hyun, head of Samsung Electronics' DS division, stated on WeTalk on the 2nd, "I will provide a response after organizing the compensation plan in mid-September or early October."
