President Yoon Declares Additional Special Disaster Areas for 6 Towns and Townships Affected by 'Hinnamnor'
President Yoon instructs Minister Lee Sang-min to ensure thorough restoration to prevent repeated damage in typhoon-affected areas
[Asia Economy Reporter Ki-min Lee] President Yoon Suk-yeol additionally declared six eup and myeon as special disaster zones on the 28th in relation to Typhoon 'Hinnamno' that struck the southern region earlier this month.
On the same day, President Yoon declared Onsan-eup and Duseo-myeon in Ulju-gun, Ulsan; Yokji-myeon and Hansan-myeon in Tongyeong-si, Gyeongnam; and Ilun-myeon and Nambu-myeon in Geoje-si, Gyeongnam as special disaster zones, according to a written briefing by Lee Jae-myung, deputy spokesperson of the Presidential Office.
Previously, on the 7th, President Yoon had initially declared Pohang-si and Gyeongju-si in Gyeongbuk as special disaster zones.

Deputy spokesperson Lee explained that President Yoon repeatedly instructed Minister of the Interior and Safety Lee Sang-min to thoroughly restore the typhoon-affected areas permanently to prevent recurrence of similar damage, and to continuously ensure that practical support is provided to affected residents such as small business owners.
