Suwon 'Redevelopment and Reconstruction Joint Council' Launches on 28th... "Rapid Improvement of Aging Residential Areas"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] The Redevelopment and Reconstruction Joint Council of Suwon, Gyeonggi Province has been formed.
The Suwon Redevelopment and Reconstruction Council announced that it held its inaugural general meeting on the 28th on the 3rd floor of the Wuman 1-dong Administrative Support Center in Paldal-gu.
The council will discuss and promote measures to revitalize aging residential maintenance, secure public interest, provide floor area ratio incentives, simplify project procedures, and increase resident participation.
It also plans to establish a maintenance project platform unique to Suwon City to prevent indiscriminate development and to proceed with consistent and distinctive maintenance projects swiftly. In particular, the council will also lay the foundation to restore Suwon's status as the capital city of Gyeonggi Province.
Lee Chang-hoon, co-chairman of the joint council, emphasized, "With the new government's launch, expectations for redevelopment and reconstruction are growing in line with the policy to improve living conditions in aging residential areas and expand housing supply. We will lead transparent and swift redevelopment unlike before and show results so that Suwon City can become a good precedent for successful redevelopment projects."
Lee Jung-jae, chairman of the reconstruction council, stressed, "Redevelopment and reconstruction are highly anticipated in the establishment of new maintenance project policies to be introduced by Suwon City, reflecting residents' participation and opinions. In line with this, together with citizens, we will do our best with members to revitalize the maintenance of aging residential areas in Suwon City."

Meanwhile, the redevelopment hopeful areas in Suwon are six locations: Wuman 1-dong, Maegyo-dong, Seryu-dong, Yeonghwa-dong, Songjuk-dong, and Jowon-dong. The reconstruction hopeful complexes include 13 locations: Jowon Byeoksan, Dongsin 1, 2, and 3rd complexes, Woncheon Jugong, Wuman Poonglim, Maetan Samsung 1st, Maetan Hanguk 1st, Seryu Miyeong, Jeongja Green Mansion, Maetan Imkwang, Gwonseon Samcheonri 1st, and Gwonseon Seongji.
