Overseas Promotion and Marketing Channel for Small and Medium Tourism Businesses... Support for Building a Digital Management Environment
[Asia Economy Reporter Lim Cheol-young] Seoul City is establishing the 'Seoul 365 Travel Platform,' the first in Korea that allows small and medium-sized tourism businesses to directly promote and market to overseas travel agencies, and is creating a digital management environment to help the small travel industry overcome the crisis caused by COVID-19.
On the 28th, Seoul City announced that starting with a business briefing session for recruiting participating companies on the 29th, it will conduct a pilot operation in November and begin full operation next year. The 'Seoul 365 Travel Platform' construction and operation project is part of the 'Seoul Tourism Revitalization Plan' announced by Seoul City on September 16, connecting businesses attracting foreign tourists in Seoul with overseas sellers, enabling communication such as quotation requests through an online-based service.
At the 'Seoul 365 Travel Platform' business briefing session held on the 29th at the Seoul Global Center International Conference Hall, about 180 small and medium-sized tourism businesses based in Seoul are expected to participate. The city will explain usage and registration methods to participating companies and recruit franchisees. Any small and medium-sized tourism business operating travel agencies, accommodations, food, transportation, experiences, sightseeing, shopping, or convenience facilities based in Seoul can be eligible to join the platform, and there is no entry fee.
By joining the 'Seoul 365 Travel Platform,' the only domestic channel for overseas promotion and marketing of small and medium-sized tourism businesses, companies can receive support for tourism product promotion and marketing, product development, and building a digital management environment. Seoul City plans to expand and strengthen the communication system between domestic and overseas travel agencies through the platform and create an environment where excellent tourism products can be continuously developed through mutual collaboration.

Seoul City expects that through the construction and operation of the 'Seoul 365 Travel Platform,' the early normalization of the small and medium tourism industry, quality control of travel products, and improvement of management conditions will be achieved, thereby promoting self-sustaining innovation in the tourism ecosystem. Choi Kyung-joo, Director of the Seoul Tourism and Sports Bureau, said, “We hope that excellent tourism products containing Seoul’s unique charm will be better known in the overseas tourism market through the 'Seoul 365 Travel Platform,' providing a great opportunity to attract potential tourists worldwide to Seoul.” He added, “Seoul City will actively support the platform to become a timely relief for the tourism industry, which has been stagnant due to COVID-19, and serve as a foundation for the industry’s sustainable growth.”
