Ceragem has completed the relocation of the research organization and facilities from its Cheonan Technology Research Institute to the Pangyo R&D Center. Going forward, based on an excellent research environment and accessibility, the company plans to operate the center as a core hub for strengthening technological capabilities by recruiting key talent and expanding the R&D organization.
The R&D Center consists of a mechanical workshop, circuit workshop, laboratory, and office space. It features a significantly improved research environment by doubling the research equipment needed for analysis, testing, and design compared to before, as well as enhancing the convenience of office spaces.
Pangyo Technovalley, where the R&D Center is located, is an industrial hub housing many major domestic IT and bio companies, and Ceragem expects it to greatly contribute to the training and securing of specialized personnel. Ceragem aims to increase the staff of its Technology Research Institute from about 50 to around 80, an approximately 60% increase, and plans to actively promote cooperation with major research institutions and startups as well as open innovation.
Since establishing its Technology Research Institute in 2000, Ceragem has developed and integrated core functions of key products such as internal heating ceramics, body shape scanning, and Internet of Things (IoT) systems. In particular, this year, it is investing 23 billion KRW in technology development, clinical research, design, and open innovation, and plans to invest a total of 100 billion KRW by 2024 to advance its technology and products.
