Close Cooperation with Fire Authorities for Response
On the morning of the 26th, Hyundai Department Store Group entered an emergency response system due to a fire that occurred at Hyundai Premium Outlet in Yongsan-dong, Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.
Hyundai Department Store Group announced that it formed a task force (TF) to respond to the fire and immediately dispatched it to the site. The TF is composed mainly of executives. Hyundai Department Store Group explained that it is focusing on closely cooperating with the fire authorities to understand the situation on site and respond accordingly.
At around 7:45 a.m. that day, the fire at Hyundai Outlet resulted in 2 deaths and 1 serious injury. Following reports that 4 people, including logistics team employees, were unaccounted for, the fire authorities are conducting search operations. Due to the fire, 110 people including guests and staff of the nearby lodging building were evacuated. It is known that there were no customers at the time of the fire as the outlet had not yet opened.
