CJ CheilJedang announced on the 26th that it participated in the '7th IMDC,' held from the 19th to the 23rd at BEXCO in Busan, operating a booth to promote the environmental and industrial value of the marine biodegradable material PHA.
Experts in the marine field and environmental policy officials from over 50 countries who visited the site noted that PHA biodegrades in the ocean and can be an alternative to the microplastic problem. It can be used in various applications, from single-use products to containers for cosmetics and other consumer goods. A representative from a marine-related public institution said, "We are looking for various solutions to prevent marine pollution, and we want to widely promote PHA as a material that can solve marine pollution issues."
In particular, CJ CheilJedang was the only private company to have a separate presentation session during the conference, actively promoting ▲ ways to reduce petrochemical plastics using biodegradable materials including PHA ▲ and the verification of PHA's environmental and ecosystem safety based on research and development (R&D) competitiveness.
