87% of Gyeonggi-do Youth Satisfied with 'Transportation Cost Support Program'
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] A survey found that 87% of youth in Gyeonggi-do are 'satisfied' with the transportation cost support program.
The Gyeonggi-do Youth Transportation Cost Support Program is a project where the province reimburses 120,000 KRW annually (60,000 KRW per half-year) in local currency to youths aged 13 to 23 to reduce their transportation expenses, as they frequently use public transportation.
On the 25th, the province announced that a satisfaction survey was conducted from August 2 to 15, 2021, targeting 3,198 users of the '2021 Gyeonggi-do Youth Transportation Cost Support Program,' and 87% of respondents expressed overall satisfaction with the program.
Regarding satisfaction by detailed items, the scores were as follows: ▲Ease of understanding program information (77 points) ▲Appropriateness of target group (youth aged 13 to 23) (76 points) ▲Sufficiency of application period (1.5 months) (76 points). On the other hand, satisfaction with program content (support up to 120,000 KRW annually) scored 58 points, and convenience of program use (receiving and using local currency) scored 64 points, which were relatively lower.
Park No-geuk, Director of the Transportation Bureau of the province, stated, "Through this survey, we confirmed the high satisfaction and strong support of beneficiaries for the program. At a time when economic burdens are very high due to rising living costs, this program not only helps the households of Gyeonggi-do youth and their parents but also contributes to revitalizing local small businesses through local currency."
