Arrest Warrant Expected to Be Filed Tomorrow
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A man who assaulted his own older sister to death over a religious dispute was arrested by the police.
On the 23rd, Gangdong Police Station announced that they had urgently arrested a man in his 60s, identified as Mr. A, on suspicion of murder and were investigating him. Mr. A is accused of repeatedly assaulting his sister at a house in Gangdong-gu, Seoul, around midnight, causing her death.
At 9:53 a.m., Mr. A directly called 119 and reported to the fire department that "the victim was not breathing." Subsequently, around 10 a.m., police who received a joint response request arrived at the scene and urgently arrested Mr. A.
During the police investigation, Mr. A reportedly stated, "The victim, who was a shaman, urged his daughter to become a shaman as well, which angered me and led to a dispute."
