A Middle School Girl Missing for Two Months Found Safe in Daejeon
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Park Jin-hyung] A middle school girl who had been out of contact for two months in Gwangju was found in Daejeon.
According to the Gwangju Seobu Police Station on the 23rd, the police found A (14) around 11:55 a.m. that day while conducting a stakeout in front of a restaurant in Yuseong-gu, Daejeon.
It has been 68 days since a report was made that A had disappeared.
A, who had been staying in a nearby one-room apartment, was found while heading to the restaurant for lunch.
The one-room apartment was confirmed to be the home of a man in his 20s whom she had contacted through social networking services (SNS) before running away.
The police tracked her whereabouts based on digital forensic analysis of A’s mobile phone and computer, as well as tips from nearby residents who said they saw someone resembling her around the restaurant.
A disappeared on July 18 after leaving her mobile phone, bag, and other belongings at school.
The police, tracking her whereabouts following a family report, confirmed that A took an express bus to Daejeon and then got into a taxi. However, due to poor CCTV image quality, the taxi’s license plate could not be identified, making it difficult to trace her movements afterward.
