In Haman-gun, Local Tax Appeals and Tax Representation Are 'Free'
Free Local Tax Selection Agent System
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Hapcheon-gun, Gyeongnam Province, is implementing a free local tax representative selection system for residents who are unaware of the local tax appeal system or cannot appoint a tax agent due to economic reasons.
Tax accountants, lawyers, and certified public accountants provide legal review and advisory services requested by residents free of charge.
This service targets individual taxpayers with a claim amount of 10 million KRW or less, comprehensive income of 50 million KRW or less, and total owned property worth 500 million KRW or less.
Corporations, those subject to departure bans under the Local Tax Collection Act, and high-amount or habitual tax delinquents are not eligible for support. Due to the nature of the tax items, appeal procedures for tobacco consumption tax, local consumption tax, and leisure tax are also excluded.
Appeal work includes pre-assessment review and objection to local taxes. When filing an appeal, applicants must complete and submit a representative selection application form.
The county reviews the submitted application along with the taxpayer's income and property qualifications, then appoints a representative and notifies the applicant of the selection result within seven days from the date of receipt.
