The event, themed "Exploring the Peaceful Co-evolution of Multiple Civilizations in the Trans-Pacific," featured a special lecture and discussion by Professor Kim Yanghyun of Chonnam National University titled "Philosopher Kant's Project: Eternal Peace for Humanity."
In his lecture, Professor Kim stated, "Kant planned the theory of perpetual peace in political philosophy, which consists of presenting the principle of eternal peace for realizing human dignity," adding, "He proposed the principles of eternal peace as 'Only on eternal peace can human dignity be universally elevated' and 'Eternal peace is the highest political good.'
Professor Kim further emphasized, "From the perspective of eternal peace, the root of evil that obstructs such peace and the discord between morality and politics can be identified, but these concepts should be recognized not as empty ideals but as tasks to be addressed."
After Professor Kim's lecture, participants listened to a lecture exploring the agenda task of peaceful co-evolution of multiple civilizations in the Trans-Pacific, sharing the understanding that Kant's 'eternal peace' laid the preliminary provisions for everlasting peace between nations.
They reflected on and researched the historical background in which these provisions emerged concerning peaceful co-evolution.
