Tickets for Performances Sell Like Hotcakes This Fall... Chance to Buy on E-commerce Platforms
Tmon, Performance Ticket Sales 25 Times Higher Than Pre-COVID Levels
Interpark, 'Sarangeui Bulsichak' Discount Promotion
With the arrival of autumn, there has been a surge in consumers looking to enjoy performances such as musicals. The relaxation of outdoor mask-wearing regulations has also contributed to the increase in sales of performance-related products. E-commerce companies are offering opportunities to purchase tickets for various performances at discounted prices.
Tmon investigated ticket sales for performances, exhibitions, and experiences from May this year, when the outdoor mask mandate began to be partially lifted, until the 20th of this month. The results showed a 25-fold increase compared to the same period in 2019, before the outbreak of COVID-19. This appears to be due to the revival of consumer sentiment that had been subdued by nearly three years of social distancing. By category, musicals and plays increased 20-fold, children’s and family performances 89-fold, and exhibitions, experiences, and events 27-fold. With the complete lifting of the outdoor mask mandate allowing masks to be removed at outdoor concerts, cultural performance sales in the second half of the year are expected to increase further.
In response, Tmon has prepared a special 'TmonStage' performance. TmonStage is an exclusive performance series available only through Tmon, offering benefits such as actor meet-and-greets, curtain call photo opportunities, exclusive gifts for Tmon customers, and no booking fees. First, the comedy film starring Robin Williams, 'Mrs. Doubtfire,' has been reborn as a musical and will be performed. The Tmon-exclusive musical 'Mrs. Doubtfire' stage is scheduled for 2 PM on the 2nd of next month. The cast includes musical box office guarantees Jung Sung-hwa, Shin Young-sook, Kim Da-hyun, and others. There is also the play 'Love Letter' as part of TmonStage. The Tmon-exclusive performance dates are October 15 and 16.
Interpark is also running a discount promotion for the musical 'Crash Landing on You.' Tickets for this musical are being sold at a discount until the 6th of next month, and a customer participation event has been organized. Customers who leave a review after attending the performance will be entered into a draw to receive items such as autographed program books by the cast.
