Busan Office of Education Wins 30 Awards at the 12th National Commercial Competition ... First Grand Prize in 6 Years
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] From the 15th to the 17th, 30 students from Busan won awards at the "12th National Commercial Competition" held at four venues including Daejeon Girls' Commercial High School in Daejeon.
The competition was held normally for the first time in two years due to the impact of COVID-19, with 1,571 participants from 17 cities and provinces nationwide.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education sent 135 students in 16 categories, achieving a total of 30 awards including 1 grand prize, 6 gold prizes, 7 silver prizes, and 16 bronze prizes.
The grand prize was awarded to Choi Hye-jung, a second-year student at Busanjin Girls' Commercial High School, who competed in the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) category.
Choi ranked first among 93 participants in the ERP category, bringing the grand prize to the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education for the first time in six years since the accounting practice category in 2016.
Gold prizes were awarded to six students including Shin Myung-hee, a third-year student at Busan Tourism High School in the Employment Design Presentation category, and silver prizes went to seven students including Moon Hye-min, a second-year student at Busan Marketing High School in the Hotel Food and Beverage Service Practice II category.
Bronze prizes were awarded to 16 students including Kim Ji-hee, a second-year student at Busan Girls' Commercial High School in the Financial Practice category.
The students who participated in the competition had been steadily preparing through commercial-related school classes, supplementing any shortcomings through after-school programs and club activities.
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education has provided administrative and financial support such as training expenses to ensure that students face no inconvenience in preparing for the competition.
