'Genome Bio Expo 2022' Held in Ulsan ... Ulsan City and UNIST Explore Current Status and Industrialization of Genomics
From the 22nd to 24th at Ulsan Exhibition & Convention Center: Public Lectures, International Symposium, Exhibition, and Experience Events
[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] The 'Genome Bio Expo 2022,' which covers genome research achievements and industrialization, will be held for three days from the 22nd to the 24th at the Ulsan Exhibition & Convention Center (UECO).
This event is hosted by Ulsan City and organized by the Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology (UNIST).
Under the theme "From Genome to Aging - Beyond the Korean 10,000 Genomes Project," the expo will share the latest genome research achievements focused on research and technology development related to the Korean 10,000 Genomes Project and explore directions for the commercialization and industrial development of genomic research.
On the first day, the 22nd, the opening ceremony will be held from 3:30 PM with about 100 attendees including Ulsan Mayor Kim Doo-gyeom, UNIST President Lee Yong-hoon, City Council Chairman Kim Ki-hwan, Ulju County Governor Lee Soon-geol, related businesspeople, and experts.
The opening ceremony will proceed in the order of ▲Opening remarks, welcome address and congratulatory speeches, ▲Awarding of meritorious persons by the mayor, ▲Presentation on the future vision of the genome bio industry, ▲Opening performance, and ▲Exhibition tour.
Events held differently by day include the 'International Genome Symposium' featuring world-renowned scholars for experts on the topics of aging and diseases on days 1 and 2, and on day 2, an investment consultation meeting between related companies and investors will be arranged.
On day 3, there will be a dialogue with 2006 Nobel laureate Professor Andrew Fire on "Science and the Opportunities Science Provides," a 'Genome Industry Seminar' by related companies focusing on the latest genome decoding and diagnostic technologies, and a Job Fair introducing corporate promotions and recruitment procedures.
Additionally, during the event period, various citizen experience programs are prepared, including lectures for citizens on genome and aging, making DNA helix structure models, job experiences through scientific play, exhibitions by over 40 domestic and international related companies, and a genome report talk concert for participants of the Ulsan 10,000 Genomes Project.
