[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters, Reporter Kim Chunsu] Four emergency patients from island areas, where strong winds were blowing over the weekend, were urgently transported to the mainland by the Coast Guard one after another.
According to Mokpo Coast Guard on the 19th, a report was received that resident A (male, in his 60s) living in Dochomyeon, Sinan-gun, was injured with a ruptured muscle in his right leg after falling while working at a salt farm at around 4:21 PM the previous day.
The Coast Guard dispatched the coastal rescue boat from Amtae Police Substation to the scene, moved Mr. A onto a stretcher, boarded him, and safely transported him. They arrived at Namgang Pier on Amtaedo at around 5:45 PM that day and handed him over to the 119 ambulance team.
At the time of transport, strong winds of 10 to 12 m/s and high waves of 1.5 to 2 meters were blowing due to the typhoon, making it impossible for the ambulance boat to operate.
Earlier, on the 16th, the Coast Guard transported resident B (male, in his 50s) of Sinui-do, Sinan-gun, who showed symptoms of generalized convulsions, and resident C (male, in his 60s) of Bigeumdo, who showed suspected angina symptoms, to the mainland via patrol vessels and coastal rescue boats, and transferred them to hospitals.
Then, at 11:33 AM on the 17th, after receiving a report that tourist D (female, in her 60s) fell while riding a bicycle downhill and injured her head on Byeongpungdo, Sinan-gun, the Coast Guard urgently dispatched the coastal rescue boat from Jido Police Substation, provided emergency treatment, and quickly transported her to the mainland.
The four emergency patients transported to the mainland by the Coast Guard were reportedly moved to hospitals located in Mokpo and Muan for treatment.
