Kwon Seong-dong: "Democratic Party, which created the 1000 trillion won national debt era, talks about tax waste... Trying to divert attention with First Lady special investigation"
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Min-jae] Kwon Seong-dong, floor leader of the People Power Party, strongly criticized the Democratic Party of Korea for criticizing President Yoon Suk-yeol's plan to build a new state guesthouse, saying, "It is contradictory for the Democratic Party, which created the era of 1,000 trillion won national debt, to talk about wasteful spending of taxes."
In a post on Facebook on the 17th, Floor Leader Kwon said, "Even within the Moon Jae-in administration, the existing Blue House state guesthouse was pointed out as the worst level unbefitting the national dignity," adding, "This is a confession that the Democratic Party is using the government's diplomatic infrastructure as a subject of political strife."
He criticized the Democratic Party's criticism, saying, "They quibbled over the construction cost of 87.8 billion won. It is contradictory for the Democratic Party, which created the era of 1,000 trillion won national debt, to talk about wasteful spending of taxes."
Floor Leader Kwon said, "Above all, if cost was the issue in building the new state guesthouse, they should have welcomed its withdrawal with open arms," adding, "However, the Democratic Party suddenly fell into a collective delusion that the First Lady ordered the construction of the state guesthouse and is calling for a special prosecutor."
He pointed out, "In the end, they used taxes as rhetoric to link the First Lady with a special prosecutor," and said, "The current attitude of the Democratic Party is nothing but an obsession to deflect the investigation of the party leader Lee Jae-myung and his spouse by calling for a special prosecutor for the First Lady."

He added, "The only way for the Democratic Party to escape from such a miserable obsession is to cut ties with party leader Lee Jae-myung," and said, "Since all their political moves are based on 'Lee Jae-myung First-ism,' isn't that why they keep making reckless moves every day? It's just pathetic."
