[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jong-il] On the 14th at 4 p.m., Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan District, visited the Yongsan Art Hall Grand Theater to participate in the integrity talk of the 'Integrity Thank You Concert with Residents.'
This event, held face-to-face for the first time in three years due to COVID-19, was attended by about 400 people including residents, district council members, and staff. It was organized to express gratitude to everyone who worked hard for COVID-19 prevention and a clean Yongsan, and to build a consensus on the public officials' duty of integrity.
The performance was conducted in a concert format, where popera and musical singers presented songs with messages of integrity such as 'First Love' and 'Stairs to Tomorrow.'
During the performance, a professional instructor gave a special lecture on integrity, and an integrity talk with the host was delivered in an entertaining way based on real cases, gaining enthusiastic responses from the staff.
Park Hee-young, Mayor of Yongsan District, said, “I believe integrity is not a heavy responsibility that weighs on the shoulders but a social attitude that everyone should have,” adding, “We will unite with residents and public officials to create a prestigious and clean city of Yongsan.”
On the 15th at 3 p.m., Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the Nowon Social Welfare Workers Healing Walk event held at Suraksan Barrier-Free Forest Trail.
Co-hosted by Nowon District Office and Nowon Education Welfare Foundation, this event was organized to encourage workers of 20 private welfare facilities in the area who have been striving for the development of local welfare in celebration of Social Welfare Day.
The event was held with the attendance of Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, Kim Geun, Chairman of Nowon Education Welfare Foundation, district council members, guests, and about 300 private welfare facility workers. It proceeded with guest introductions and greetings, group photo session, and walking along the barrier-free forest trail.
The guests and social welfare workers started from Nowon-gol at Suraksan Barrier-Free Forest Trail, walked together to Hanok Daycare Center as the turning point, and returned to Nowon-gol, sharing their difficulties and taking time to relieve fatigue.
Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, said, “I sincerely thank the workers who are doing their best for social welfare in Nowon District with a sense of mission and pride,” adding, “We will continue to listen to voices from the field and strive to improve the treatment and welfare environment of the workers.”
On the 15th afternoon, Park Kang-soo, Mayor of Mapo District, visited the Mapo Community Sports Center to inspect the bowling alley expansion construction site and related facilities.
The mayor instructed the executives accompanying him on site to minimize residents' inconvenience caused by the expansion construction of the bowling alley and parking lot and to devise ways to enhance the convenience of center users. He also requested that the staff lounge be managed so that it can be used for its original purpose and discussed ways to improve working conditions for the center staff.
