Chungnam Walking App 'Geotju' Reaches 350,000 Users... Equivalent to 3,667 Earth Orbits Walked
[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province announced on the 15th that as of the 12th, the number of subscribers to the walking app ‘Geotju’ reached 350,376.
This is about eight months after surpassing 210,000 subscribers on December 31 of last year. During this period, the number of Geotju app subscribers increased by approximately 137,000 (64%).
By city and county, Cheonan had the highest number of subscribers with 83,793, followed by Asan with 47,633, Seosan with 28,877, Dangjin with 25,738, and Nonsan with 21,248.
By age group, subscribers included 71,251 aged 10 and under, 21,646 in their 20s, 44,972 in their 30s, 76,059 in their 40s, 62,098 in their 50s, 48,390 in their 60s, 22,323 in their 70s, and 3,637 aged 80 and above.
The oldest subscriber was a 98-year-old residing in Taean, and the youngest was a 6-year-old child living in Boryeong.
The subscriber with the highest step count was a person in their 40s living in Asan, who recorded a total of 39,330,000 steps from January to this month, averaging 39,856 steps per day.
The total number of steps taken by all Geotju app subscribers amounts to 209,523,290,000 steps, equivalent to circling the Earth 3,667 times (14,666,630.5 km).
