Yang Geum-hee, the floor spokesperson for the People Power Party, stated in a commentary that "the renewable energy projects such as solar power promoted by the Moon Jae-in government have become a hotbed of illegal and unlawful activities, as the public feared," adding, "The government must conduct a swift full-scale investigation to thoroughly examine the Moon administration's mismanaged solar power projects, hold those responsible accountable, and recover the illegally spent public funds."
She mentioned that the government’s joint anti-corruption prevention task force, which conducted an inspection of the operation of the solar power and other electric power industry infrastructure fund support projects, uncovered illegal and improper cases amounting to 261.6 billion won out of the 12 trillion won of public funds invested during the five years of the Moon administration, expressing concern that "if the corruption revealed in the initial sample survey is this extensive, the total wasted budget is estimated to reach several trillion won when expanded to the entire scope."
Spokesperson Yang criticized, "Behind the reckless push for solar power projects over the past five years, they were holding a feast for themselves with the people's tax money," adding, "it is an act of betrayal to disguise a national industry as renewable energy, turning it into a personal profit-making business, and leaving only debt collection notices for the public."

Punitive measures against fraudulent claims are also necessary." Policy Committee Chairperson Sung Il-jong demanded an apology from the Democratic Party of Korea, saying, "The renewable energy projects massively implemented under the Moon Jae-in government in the name of nuclear phase-out were actually a hotbed of illegal and unlawful activities."
