LG Uplus "Subscribe to 'Wine' with IPTV and Internet Sign-ups"... Enhancing Customer Benefits

View original image[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] LG Uplus announced on the 14th that it will newly offer a ‘Wine Subscription’ benefit that gifts customized wine every month to customers who subscribe to smart home services such as Internet TV (IPTV) and high-speed internet.
For this benefit, LG Uplus collaborated with ‘Purpledog,’ which operates a wine subscription platform. Purpledog not only provides various wine-related information but also recommends wines reflecting customers’ preferences and offers a subscription service that gifts wines tailored to their tastes every month.
LG Uplus prepared the wine subscription benefit reflecting the steadily increasing wine consumption trend. According to the Food Industry Statistical Information System (FIS), the volume of imported wine in Korea last year was $560 million (approximately 769.2 billion KRW), increasing for four consecutive years.
The wine subscription benefit is provided to customers who newly subscribe online by combining the IPTV service U+tv and high-speed internet service on LG Uplus’s official website, Uplus.com. New smart home service subscribers can choose the Purpledog wine subscription voucher in addition to existing gifts such as department store gift certificates, TVs, and washing machines.
There are three types of Purpledog wine subscription vouchers customers can choose from: 3, 6, and 12 months. Customers who newly subscribe to U+tv and high-speed internet on Uplus.com can select wine subscription as one of the desired gifts, and by entering their preferred wine type (red, white, sparkling) and delivery address in the notification message received via text or KakaoTalk, they can receive popular best wines monthly in a subscription format. For example, a smart home service subscriber (100M internet and U+tv Basic) eligible for gifts worth 300,000 KRW can choose a 6-month wine subscription voucher worth 200,000 KRW and a department store gift certificate worth 100,000 KRW.
To commemorate the partnership with Purpledog, LG Uplus is also holding an event on its official online homepage, giving away a trip to France by lottery to customers who newly subscribe to smart home services.
This event gifts customers who receive smart home-related consultations and complete activation on the official homepage with prizes including: a France travel voucher (round-trip airfare, hotel accommodation, winery tour) for one person with two tickets, one bottle of Menegolli Bugatti Amarone 2013 wine worth 850,000 KRW (5 winners), a Riedel Heart to Heart Cabernet wine glass set worth 80,000 KRW (10 winners), and a one-month Purpledog trial voucher (100 winners). The event runs until the 30th, and customers who complete activation by the 8th of next month are automatically entered. Winners will be announced on October 13 on the LG Uplus website.
Additionally, through the event page on the homepage, customers who newly subscribe to 100M internet and the premium Disney+ IPTV product can choose between an LG wine cellar or a 9-month Purpledog wine subscription voucher. Customers subscribing to 500M internet and premium Disney+ can choose between an LG Objet Collection wine cellar or a 12-month Purpledog wine subscription voucher. Customers subscribing to 1G internet, premium Disney+, and the home IoT product Petcare will receive both a Samsung Bespoke wine cellar and a 3-month Purpledog wine subscription voucher as part of the event.
