Jeongeup-si Promotes Small Loan Program for Housing Funds for Single-Parent Families

[Jeongeup=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Jae-gil] Jeongeup City in Jeonbuk is recruiting applicants for the small loan program for housing funds for single-parent families called ‘I am the Head of the Household.’

The city announced on the 13th that it is promoting the ‘I am the Head of the Household’ interest-free small loan program for housing funds in cooperation with the Seoul Single-Parent Family Support Center to alleviate the housing fund burden and stabilize housing for single-parent families.

This program provides interest-free loans of up to 5 million KRW per household for housing funds needed when single-parent families sign lease contracts, and support is given only to households that have newly signed or renewed contracts within a certain period.

Eligibility requires being the head of a household of a low-income single-parent family (including grandparent-grandchild families) residing in Jeongeup City who meets all of the following conditions: having children under 18 years old (under 22 if attending school), a standard median income of 100% or less, and a lease deposit of 60 million KRW or less.

Support recipients will be selected through a comprehensive review of family status, economic situation, and housing environment, and loans will be provided starting from November.

Applications are accepted until the 27th, and applicants must prepare the application form and related documents and submit them in person at the local town office or community service center of their address.

A city official said, “We hope this will help single-parent families resolve housing insecurity and live with dignity. We will continue to do our best in developing housing policies and support efforts so that vulnerable households can maintain stable housing.”
