Governor Kim Dong-yeon: "We will continuously improve for those in urgent need of emergency relief"
[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, announced that the 'Emergency Welfare Hotline' and the '120 Gyeonggi Call Center' will be operated concurrently for the time being to support households in crisis.
On the 13th, Kim posted on Facebook titled "Emergency Welfare Hotline, We Will Improve and Keep Improving," stating, "First, the mobile phone (emergency welfare) number '010-4419-7722' will be maintained," and added, "Originally, we planned to use it only until this Chuseok holiday and then integrate it with the '120 Gyeonggi Call Center,' but we will continue to utilize it."
He continued, "Because it is a mobile phone number, there is an expectation among users that a person, not a machine, will answer immediately," and added, "Next, we will continue to use the 120 number while fixing and improving the issues."
He also said, "Some people have difficulty pressing numbers following the recorded guidance message," and promised, "We will change the ARS guidance system as soon as possible so that those in urgent need of emergency relief can easily access it and receive prompt assistance."
