District Office Official Arrested After Attempting Sexual Harassment Over Fence and Fleeing

[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Gyumin] A public official in his 50s was arrested on charges of attempting sexual harassment by climbing over a wall and fleeing the scene.
The Seoul Western District Court issued an arrest warrant on the 12th for Mr. A (57), a male team leader-level public official affiliated with Mapo District Office, on charges of violating the Special Act on the Punishment of Sexual Crimes, including quasi-forcible molestation and trespassing, citing concerns over evidence destruction and flight risk.
Mr. A is accused of climbing over the wall of a multi-family house in Bukgajwa-dong, Seodaemun-gu, Seoul, around 4 a.m. on the 10th, secretly entering the victim's home and attempting molestation. It is also reported that he fled when the victim, who was sleeping on the sofa, screamed.
