Senior spokesperson Ahn Ho-young of the Democratic Party stated in a written briefing on the 8th, "The political intention to put the Democratic Party on the Chuseok table to cover up the incompetence and family quarrels of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration is blatantly obvious."
Ahn emphasized, "Is political oppression the rule of law and justice that President Yoon spoke of? The words 'rule of law' and 'justice' that President Yoon emphasized have died as of today."
He continued, "Even if the opposition leader is indicted, it cannot cover up the Yoon Seok-yeol administration's chaotic state affairs and personnel disasters that will be on the Chuseok table. Rather, it only highlights the president's ruthlessness, who indiscriminately wields the blade of oppression against the opposition while neglecting people's livelihoods and state affairs."
He added, "The Democratic Party will fight to the end against the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, which indiscriminately wields the blade of political oppression."
Condemnations against the administration continued at the emergency Supreme Council meeting convened in the afternoon.
Floor leader Park Hong-geun claimed, "This is a low and unjust worst political indictment to cover up President Yoon's own incompetence and failures, and a violent act of anti-cooperation to recover public sentiment, which has fallen due to incompetence in the people's economy, through a state of affairs and public security crackdown."
Park said, "President Yoon has revealed his true intention to complete a prosecutor's republic by oppressing opposition leaders and lawmakers. He himself admitted to being a 'yangduguyuk' merchant who hangs a sheep's head but sells dog meat."
Park Beom-gye, chairman of the party's 'Yoon Seok-yeol Administration Political Oppression Countermeasures Committee,' said, "Prosecutors, from the perspective of the justice you have learned, is this disgraceful hunt truly right? We will fight against this wrongful indictment together with the people."
Supreme Council member Jung Cheong-rae said, "Can't you hear the people's cries that they regret voting for President Yoon so much that they want to cut off their fingers? Rather, suppress the wind and imprison the swaying reeds."
Jung also said, "Anyway, I hope President Yoon has a good Chuseok. Please reduce your drinking."
There were also remarks at the meeting seemingly targeting President Yoon's position, with harsh language hinting at impeachment.
Supreme Council member Ko Min-jung said, "Yesterday, the prosecution indicted Im Jong-sung, chairman of the Democratic Party's Gyeonggi Province branch, and seven current and former city and provincial council members, and about twenty of our party's current lawmakers are under investigation by the prosecution."
Ko added, "It seems the ghost of dictatorship represented by Park Chung-hee and Chun Doo-hwan is being revived through President Yoon. Remember that the end of leaders who destroyed democracy in our history was always miserable."

Supreme Council member Park Chan-dae said, "If you ignore the people like this and try to return to the political logic of the past and the new public security era, you will face resistance from the people. I think there is a high possibility that President Yoon's term will not be guaranteed."
