[Asia Economy Reporter Kwak Min-jae] Sampyo Industry announced on the 7th that it held a safety and health management declaration ceremony for ready-mix concrete transportation operators at its Gwangju plant to create a safe working environment and establish a safety culture.
The declaration ceremony was organized to create an environment where all Sampyo Industry employees and ready-mix concrete transportation operators can work safely and comfortably. The event was attended by Sampyo Industry CEO Yoon In-gon, the plant manager, and ready-mix concrete transportation operators. Through the reading of the safety pledge and the establishment of the Golden Rules, the basic safety guidelines for ready-mix concrete truck drivers, they reaffirmed their commitment to achieving a zero-accident and zero-injury workplace.
Sampyo Industry employees and ready-mix concrete transportation operators pledged to prioritize safety and health and strictly adhere to the basic safety rules to prevent accidents. The main rules of the Golden Rules include ▲using pedestrian pathways within the workplace ▲wearing safety helmets and other protective gear during work ▲wearing safety belts when working on hoppers ▲checking brakes when parking vehicles ▲installing wheel chocks when parking on slopes ▲and complying with speed limits within the workplace.
Sampyo Industry is conducting regular inspections by touring the site to identify hazardous and dangerous factors in advance and continuously improve to prevent worker injuries and illnesses. Recently, to eliminate the risk of falls during the cleaning process of residual ready-mix concrete in mixer trucks, the company has been piloting the installation of an automatic water spraying system at the plant. This initiative aims to enable drivers to clean residual concrete from the mixer truck hopper (the funnel-shaped concrete input located at the upper rear of the vehicle) without having to climb onto it.
