Namwon-si Establishes and Operates Emergency Medical Service System During Chuseok Holiday
[Namwon=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jeong Young-kwon] Jeonbuk Namwon City Health Center (Director Han Yong-jae) announced on the 6th that it will establish and operate an emergency medical system during the 4-day Chuseok holiday period from the 9th to the 12th to ensure that citizens and returning visitors can spend the holiday safely.
The city plans to organize an emergency duty team in preparation for the Chuseok holiday, operate an emergency medical situation room, and minimize medical service gaps for emergency patients and local residents that may occur during the holiday period.
During the Chuseok holiday, the regional emergency medical center, Jeollabuk-do Namwon Medical Center, will operate its emergency room 24 hours a day as usual, maintain the emergency medical system, and designate 72 health institutions, hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies as emergency medical institutions and holiday duty pharmacies.
In addition, to block the spread of COVID-19 and respond quickly, the screening clinic will operate normally to ensure no inconvenience in infectious disease testing.
Information on duty medical institutions and holiday duty pharmacies can be obtained in detail through the 119 Ambulance Situation Management Center, the city hall website, and the health center, and can also be conveniently searched through the Emergency Medical Information Center website and the Emergency Medical Information Provision app.
If it is difficult to visit medical institutions or pharmacies during the holiday period or if symptoms are mild, safety over-the-counter drugs such as antipyretic analgesics, digestive aids, and cold medicine can also be purchased at 24-hour convenience stores designated as safety over-the-counter drug sales outlets.
Director Han Yong-jae of the Health Center said, “We will do our best to maintain the emergency medical system to ensure that no emergency medical gaps occur during the Chuseok holiday, prioritizing citizens’ safety,” and added, “As the spread of COVID-19 is a concern, we hope everyone strictly follows quarantine rules and has a healthy and safe holiday.”
