Jeonnam Fire Department Activates Emergency Level 3... Reinforces Half of Available Personnel in the Province, Enters Emergency Duty
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] On the morning of the 5th, Kim Jo-il, head of the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, chaired the 2nd emergency situation assessment meeting in preparation for the northward approach of Typhoon ‘Hinnamnor’ and immediately set out to visit vulnerable areas in the province.
According to the Jeonnam Fire Headquarters, Kim visited major facilities in the province that day, including Wando Coastal Passenger Terminal, Gangjin Maryang Port, Yeosu National Industrial Complex, and Gwangyang Port West Container Terminal, to inspect safety conditions of the facilities. He also urged thorough preventive activities to minimize damage.
In preparation for the northward approach of Hinnamnor, Jeonnam Fire Headquarters activated emergency level 3, reinforced half of the available personnel at 20 fire stations in the province, and commenced emergency duty.
To prepare for a surge in typhoon damage reports, the 119 comprehensive situation room increased the number of call reception desks from the existing 30 to 50, and reinforced the number of call reception personnel from 15 to 38 to respond to disaster situations.
