On this day, Hong Nam-pyo, mayor of Changwon Special City, visited the recycling complex located on Changgok-ro, Seongsan-gu, after concluding an emergency countermeasure meeting for typhoon preparedness.
At the site, Mayor Hong said, "The typhoon will pass soon before the Chuseok holiday, and damage to public facilities leads to inconvenience for residents," adding, "I urge the workers to strictly follow safety rules and do their best in inspecting facilities and conducting preventive activities."
The Changwon Recycling Complex operates food waste resource processing plants and recycling sorting facilities, equipped to process 190 tons of food waste per day.
As heavy rain and strong winds are expected in coastal areas, the city is inspecting lowland flooding and drainage facilities, and all employees have entered an emergency duty system starting from the 5th.
