Typhoon Preparedness: On-Site Inspection at Jinhae Yongwon Drainage Pump Station and Others
Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam, conducted on-site inspections of major disaster-vulnerable facilities in the district, including the Yongwon Drainage Pump Station in Jinhae-gu, in response to the approaching typhoon.

On this day, Mayor Hong instructed all departments and public officials to maintain a strong response posture to ensure that not a single case of damage occurs.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecasts that Typhoon No. 11, ‘Hinnamnor,’ is maintaining very strong power as it moves northward and is expected to approach Changwon City on the 6th, bringing strong winds and heavy rain.
Mayor Hong first visited Yongwon Drainage Pump Station to conduct a focused inspection on the normal operation of facilities, including test operation and operational status of drainage pumps, drainage status of the retention basin, and operation of sluice gates.
Emphasizing that citizens' safety is the top priority, he ordered on-site that all disaster prevention facilities in the district be intensively inspected in advance to ensure they perform optimal disaster prevention functions in the event of a situation, so that no casualties occur due to this typhoon.
He then visited Yongwon Fish Market to carefully check risk factors that could cause safety accidents, such as drainage maintenance and sediment removal, removal of fallen objects, and flood preparedness of underground facilities. He urged all public officials to strengthen surveillance activities in vulnerable areas and to mobilize all administrative resources for swift response in case of emergencies to minimize damage to the fish market merchants.
