Students of Gwangju University Department of Photography, Video, and Drone Stand Out at Art Exhibition
Student Kim Nam-ju Wins Multiple Awards Including Grand Prize
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Yoon Jamin] Students from the Department of Photography, Video, and Drone at Gwangju University (President Kim Dongjin) have been recognized for their capabilities by winning numerous awards in the photography category of the Art Exhibition.
According to Gwangju University on the 5th, senior student Kim Namju from the Department of Photography, Video, and Drone was honored with the Grand Prize at the "35th Gwangju Metropolitan City Art Exhibition."
Additionally, seniors Park Haneol and Choi Seungyun received special selection awards, while seven other seniors?Choi Boram, Myeong Sinyoung, Park Yeol, Park Minju, Kim Hyoin, Kim Myojeong, and Jeong Juri?were awarded honorable mentions.
Students from Gwangju University's Department of Photography, Video, and Drone have stood out by achieving excellent results since the 2019 competition. In the 2019 event, 10 students received awards including the Grand Prize, special selections, and honorable mentions.
In 2020, 10 students again won awards such as the Grand Prize and special selections, and in the 2021 competition, they swept awards including the Grand Prize and Excellence Award.
In particular, the Department of Photography, Video, and Drone at Gwangju University has established itself as a cradle for nurturing talent in the photography field by continuously producing award winners through an educational curriculum aimed at discovering fresh and promising new artists and fostering creative motivation.
Professor Shin Kyungcheol, advisor for the Fine Art Photography major, stated, "The Gwangju City Art Exhibition, held annually for the development and enhancement of art and culture, is a competition with authenticity and historical significance, making the awards very meaningful," and added, "We will support various educational programs so that students can achieve excellent results in many competitions."
