According to Taiwan Central News Agency on the 4th (local time), heavy rain and strong winds caused by 'Hinnamnor' led to the cancellation of about 100 flights and passenger ships. Around 600 residents in some areas such as New Taipei and Taoyuan were evacuated to nearby temporary shelters.
Property damage was also considerable. On the 4th, Taiwan's public broadcaster TTV reported that around 1 a.m., a passenger car passing over a bridge in Taipei overturned. The car lost control due to the slippery road caused by heavy rain and strong winds, collided with the guardrail, and flipped over. Fortunately, the driver was able to escape from the vehicle on their own.

Hinnamnor is currently moving northward toward the Korean Peninsula after causing considerable damage in Taiwan. The Korean Peninsula is also expected to suffer significant damage from Hinnamnor, which is classified as 'very strong' and is more powerful than major typhoons that previously struck Jeju.
The 'very strong' Hinnamnor is stronger than major typhoons that hit Jeju in the past. Hinnamnor is more powerful than Typhoon 'Nari' in mid-September 2007, which caused 12 deaths and over 130 billion won in damages in Jeju. At that time, Nari's maximum wind speed was 43 m/s, and its intensity was classified as 'strong.'
