Handok Production Plant Designated as 'Green Company' for 8 Consecutive Times... Leading Eco-Friendly Management
[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Handok announced on the 5th that its production plant located in Eumseong, Chungbuk, has been re-designated as a 'Green Company' for the eighth consecutive time.
Handok is the first in the domestic pharmaceutical industry and the longest-standing Green Company (formerly Eco-friendly Company) under the jurisdiction of the Wonju Regional Environmental Office. It was first designated as a Green Company in 2000, and with this re-designation, it will maintain its Green Company status for a total of 25 years and 6 months until September 1, 2025.
Green Companies are designated through strict screening and evaluation processes targeting eco-friendly management workplaces that have significantly contributed to environmental improvement, such as remarkable reductions in environmental pollutants and savings in resources and energy.
Handok's production plant is a state-of-the-art pharmaceutical manufacturing facility equipped with an international-level cGMP quality management system and has been leading eco-friendly management. Since the 1990s, it has established its own Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) integrated system by formulating HSE policies and has been promoting various environmental improvement activities such as resource and energy savings and pollutant reduction.
