[Asia Economy Reporter Moon Hyewon] On the 5th, SPC Group announced that it has awarded the ‘SPC Happy Scholarship’ to 100 part-time university students working at affiliated brand stores, agencies, and partner companies.
The SPC Happy Scholarship is a scholarship support program operated by SPC Group since 2012, following the will of SPC Group Chairman Hur Young-in to “support young people working in stores to nurture their dreams.”
SPC Group has been supporting 200 students annually (100 students per semester) with 50% of their tuition fees, selected from part-time university students working at affiliated brand stores such as Paris Baguette, Baskin Robbins, Dunkin, Pascucci, or partner companies, or recommended by external welfare organizations, considering factors such as length of service, work attitude, family circumstances, and academic plans.
Marking its 10th anniversary this year, the SPC Happy Scholarship program has produced a total of 2,028 scholarship recipients and provided a cumulative scholarship amount of 3.62 billion KRW. For the 100 scholarship recipients of the second semester, digital scholarship certificates in the form of NFTs (Non-Fungible Tokens), which can be easily received non-face-to-face instead of paper, were awarded to add significance to the 10th anniversary.
