Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism Supports Production of Korean Culture Metaverse Content
Selected Fifteen Ideas and Three Collaboration Models Through Public Contest
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced on the 2nd that it has selected eighteen projects through the 'Korean Culture Experience Metaverse Content Idea and Production Collaboration Model Contest.' It will support the production and promotion of fifteen ideas for experiencing and enjoying Korean culture in the metaverse, as well as three collaboration models.
The idea contents focus on Korean traditional musical instruments, artworks, Korean cuisine, K-pop dance experiences, urban and cultural travel, performance viewing, and history education. Selected companies and organizations include Kkaebi Workshop, Moon Academy, Visual Infinity, Biconix, SoulX, and Jeongdong Arts and Culture Foundation. They will receive production costs worth approximately 20 million KRW, customized expert consultations, and promotional support.
The collaboration model contents mainly promote Korean culture and attractions across various regions. The selected industry-academia-research-government teams are the Alan Parsons Project Team (Space Block·Cultural Terrain Research Institute), Jeonju Cineverse Promotion Group (Jeonju International Film Festival Organizing Committee·Jeonju Film Commission·Chonbuk National University·Telos·Jeonju City Hall), and K-Wheely Team (Sogang University·Gangsters). They will respectively develop a metaverse Hongdae performance hall, a metaverse Jeonju film festival, and a metaverse barrier-free regional attraction tour. The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will provide production costs worth approximately 50 million KRW, customized expert consultations, and promotional support.

A Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism official stated, "The contents are scheduled to be produced as prototypes by November," adding, "We plan to award the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Prize and other honors to teams and organizations that produce outstanding results."
