'Son-in-law Murder' 50s Chinese-Korean Sent to Prosecution
[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Sehee] A man in his 50s of Chinese-Korean descent has been handed over to the prosecution on suspicion of killing his son-in-law with a weapon in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul.
The Gwangjin Police Station in Seoul announced on the 2nd that Mr. A, who is suspected of murder, was sent to the prosecution in custody.
Mr. A is accused of killing his son-in-law Mr. B, a Chinese national in his 30s, with a weapon at a multi-family house in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, around 11 p.m. on the 21st of last month.
According to the police, Mr. A stated that he had an argument with his son-in-law over money issues, and it is reported that he continues to deny the charges.
The police began an investigation after Mr. B was found dead at a multi-family house in Jayang-dong, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, around 1 a.m. on the 22nd of last month. At that time, Mr. B's wife, who was in China, heard sounds of a quarrel inside the house while talking to her husband on the phone, and later reported to the police that she could no longer reach him. Mr. A, who fled immediately after the crime, was urgently arrested around 9 a.m. the same day in Chilgok, Gyeongbuk.
